Match Report

Following the last game this was a breath of fresh air with both teams looking to play good football for 90 minutes.

Depleted by injuries and holidays, a makeshift Romans team took the lead after just 6 minutes when a cross from Gray was met with a good volley from Whittaker. Unfortunately for the stand in striker his shot hit the bar but Louis Son of Gaffer was awake enough after partying all night to head home well.

HT 1-0 although Milton Keynes had a fair amount of midfield possession, the only real chance they had in the first half was when the Gaffer (making his season debut in goal) decided to liven up proceedings by nearly chucking one in his own net.

In the second half, things opened up a bit more. Whitty was relieved of striking duties and Wilson moved up front. The 2nd goal was a little while coming as Romans looked to make the game safe. Eventually it came from a set piece with Whittakers far post ball being sweetly met on the volley by centreback Konkoly.

The 3rd goal came after a flowing move when Louis Son of Gaffer crossed perfectly for Wilson. Wilsons leap was mistimed due to a helping hand from a MK defender and the ball ended up being lashed home by Whittaker who had finally found some space in the box.

The game was won and the hard working Gray got the fourth when he coolly slotted home Kumars square pass late on.

FT 4-0 Very good result considering player availabiltiy and the number of players who had to play out of position also nice to watch two passing teams just playing football in the right spirit.
